Classicist Oak Cabinet from circa 1780


A classicist oak cabinet from circa 1780 manufactured in the Moselle area. The piece stands on ball feet and has a two-door body with sweeping cassetted corner slopes. The sides are also cassetted with dowelled connections. On bands suspended, curved doors with carved musical instruments in Feston suspension. Slightly blown volute gable and crowned urn vase decorated with flowers and garland. Original keys and original fittings. In the 18th century, the art of furniture reached its peak both in terms of stylistic refinements, as well as craftsmanship perfection. After this time probably never have furniture of such perfection and preciousness been created.
