Refurbishing
The refurbishing or restoration of our original antique furniture is done in several ways:
1. Restoration
The antique furniture pieces are stabilized and often furnished with new joints so that the pieces will be stable forever. For this step, we use experienced cabinet makers, who know their handcraft and have many years experience in the restoration of antique furniture.
2. Lacquering
Depending on the surface, the furniture pieces will be abraded, primed and finished with several layers of lacquer. As a last step, we will always thoroughly polish the furniture. The Lacquering is only done by selected lacquerers with more than 10 years experience with lacquering antique furniture, since this is extraordinary important when finishing decorations and round shapes. You will hardly find little bubbles or lacquering spots on our lacquered furniture.
3. Fittings
For further refinements of our original furniture we replace old fittings with new, more solid and heavy fittings. These fittings are either bought as originals or will be repoured true to original. Since these new fittings are almost always made from metal or chrome, they give these new designer pieces a unique look of high value.
